It’s a big world out there, it would be a shame not to experience it. - J.D. Andrews
Jamie's Biog
Jamie's love of travel stemmed from the desire to see what life was like beyond the small English town he grew up in. Having visitied Thailand for the first time in 2009, Jamie made the decision a couple of years later to leave his job in the UK with a one-way ticket to Thailand where he travelled Thailand and Laos before leaving to work in New Zealand. Still holding a love for Thailand, Jamie found a permanent job there in 2013 and has lived there ever since. During his time here Jamie has travelled to Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Laos (and of course Thailand).
Jamie joined ETG in 2022 as our experience manager in Thailand. This involves working closely with our local partners, hotels and guides to explore and research destinations and activities in Thailand to make sure our clients have the best experiences possible on their holidays.
Jamie has fond memories in Cambodia with his family. From the kindness and generosity of the local people in Siem Reap, to the bamboo railway line in Battambang with his dad, who is somewhat of a railway fanatic. Although a particular anecdote he remembers is mistakenly boarding a local boat down the Mekong in Laos which lasted 8-hours, collecting rice, chickens and people along the way, sampling local home-made alcohol and learning to count to 10 in Laotian.
