Most travellers will go via Delhi or Kolkata, making India the obvious choice for a combination holiday. Either of these fast-paced cities would make a fascinating contrast to serene Bhutan, illuminating two very different aspects of South Asia. The two countries combine especially well as they offer the chance to see two very different approaches to Buddhism. Bangkok, in turn, opens up connections to the rest of Southeast Asia – why not try adding the magnificent temples of Angkor into the mix, or link to Laos to extend the tranquillity?
