Nick did a recce on this trip with Sidantha – our extra-ordinary guide who pioneered, The Abode tours to the Knuckles which are such a special part of so many people’s lives now. In this tour, Sid takes you to Mannar – cut off from Sri Lanka by the war for 30 years and with no recognised tourist accommodation you stay in a home-stay – which for many is much more fun anyway (though we moderate that with a fairly comfortable hotel in Trincomalee by the beach).
