International sports tours are often associated with large, resort-like accommodation which has been bulk-bought by the supplier. However, at Experience Travel Group we believe in the importance of personalisation and comfort. As you may know, we are organising privately-guided cricket holidays for England’s tour to Sri Lanka this in March – April 2020. Galle

I thought I’d kick off with a property which I’m hugely excited about. Le Grand is run by a highly respected hotel group called Asia Leisure. For those of you interested in the Galle test match, this is the perfect base for you. As you can see from the photos, Le Grand is located next to Galle Fort and the sea, meaning that it is only a short walk to the stadium. It is also where we will be providing a buffet lunch every day of the cricket, so if you happen to have forgotten anything in your room, you can run up and get it at lunch!
The rooms are spacious, and it boasts incredible views of the fort and ocean – what more could you want?!
Villas

Location: Just outside Galle
For those of you after ultimate privacy and relaxation, another great option that we have available are private villas located just outside of Galle. Villas are perfect if you would like to travel as a small group as you will have the privacy of your rooms, but also a great communal area overlooking the beach for those post-cricket BBQs. These villas often work out better value than hotels if you’re interested in going as a group of friends, so I’d definitely consider it. You will have the place to yourself!

For those of you who would like to explore Sri Lanka after the Galle test match, Ceylon Tea Trails is the perfect option for you. Ceylon Tea Trails offers a great mix of modern boutique luxury with the plantation bungalow experience. As you can see, the views are to die for, and the rooms are beautifully done. If you have the chance to spend two nights in the hills in between test matches, I would highly recommend staying here for the ultimate tea plantation experience.
Kandy

Location: Kandy

And finally, my favourite property in Kandy, and potentially in Sri Lanka. Clingindal is located 20 minutes from Kandy but could not feel further away from this busy city.
This luxury private house is located on a golf course which is a huge bonus in my opinion, as if you wanted a day off from the cricket, you have a golf course on your doorstep, literally! It is also an extremely personal property, with service of the highest quality.
