Burma – Pictures from 1897

Great release today from the British Library of a series of pictures of Burma from 1897 released to their Flickr account. Burma has such a strong hold on the imagination for me and these pictures told me a little about why that might be.

Alice Hart published the book ‘Picturesque Burma’ also in 1897. This is one of the photos from this collection.
