Heavy rain over recent weeks in parts of Burma has caused severe flooding in large areas of the country. While this has not had a huge effect on tourist areas, one million people are affected in areas such as Rakhine, Chin, Monywa and Kalay Mayo. The death toll was on the verge of topping 100. The four disaster zones are in some of the poorer regions of the country with logistical challenges in getting support to these areas.
Our local partners are trying to help with the rescue efforts and we would like to appeal for help to this end. Our partners are located on the ground which means that small donations can make immediate differences to people in desperate need.
For anyone who would like to donate, please contact us directly and we will assist you in getting the help to the people that need it most. Up to a total of £500 we are also prepared to match any donation made through us to this cause.
Our office is open between 10-4 tomorrow (Saturday the 8th of August) if you would like to discuss this in more detail or if you email either myself ([email protected]) or Sam Clark ([email protected]), we will pick up the emails and reply before Monday.
Thanks for your support.
