2. Chena Huts opens near Yala National Park

Sri Lanka’s first luxury safari lodge opened its doors December 2015 to travellers visiting the famous Yala National Park, boasting the highest concentration of leopards in the world. Situated between the park and the Indian Ocean, it’s the perfect place to spot the country’s wildlife in style.

3. New family of leopards

A new family of leopards have made an area of shrubland in Uda Walawe National Park their home. See them as part of our Essential Sri Lanka holiday before the cubs “fly the nest,” so to speak.

4. New whale watching experience

Sri Lanka travel specialist Lauren, recently tried out our new whale watching experience on the south coast off Mirissa.
