As Sri Lanka specialists, many customers and journalists have been asking us whether it is safe to travel to Sri Lanka right now. Following the well-documented economic and political issues last year that is an understandable concern. We answer your questions here.
politics in Asia
Politics in Asia are extremely varied as would be expected of a region of such large landmasses and diverse populations.
At Experience Travel Group we’re always on top of the different political situations in each of our destinations. We take a very keen interest in politics anyway and due to our very close relationships with our in-country partners we always get the most up to date political information so we can act accordingly.
This archive focuses mainly on the political situations and developments in Sri Lanka which is where the company was founded and Myanmar due to the ongoing political situation there. We also report on Thailand a lot which undergoes more political developments than most people recognise.
You can check out our safety archive for the most up to date safety information for each of our destinations compared to the focus on politics in Asia here.

And these aren’t invalid concerns – on average, the pound has fallen by 11.95% across 44 of the 48 countries that Brits travel to, which means you’re likely to be paying a little extra when transferring your pounds over to a foreign currency.
