responsible tourism

Responsible tourism means many things to us at ETG. On the one hand, it means travelling in a way that contributes to the local economy and promotes fair, ethical practices. We believe that the best responsible tourism schemes benefit local communities as much as the travellers themselves.

Then, there is the environmental impact of travel to consider. Naturally, you can’t get to Asia from Europe without taking a flight, and we understand that for many people this means a long-haul holiday is not ‘sustainable’. We do not shy away from this way of thinking; there’s no point ignoring the elephant in the room. However, on this blog, we do consider ways to offset carbon emissions with donations and contributions to environmental organisations, as well as how to reduce your carbon footprint in-country. We also discuss how tourism can actively benefit conservation efforts in destinations and support animal welfare, too.
