Info : Hilton Kuching
The Hilton is a good choice for visitors to Kuching. Located along the Sarawak River waterfront in the centre of the city, the Hilton is good value and provides comfortable rooms, good food and a swimming pool whilst being just a stone’s throw from the city’s sights and attractions.
The hotel boasts a variety of tastefully decorated rooms, with the River View rooms enjoying sweeping vistas across the Sarawak River, the lifeblood of the state. Also on offer are a couple of good restaurants, a gym and both adult and children’s pools, making it a good choice for couples and families alike.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
We all remarked on how well tourism blended in to the local community in a positive way. At no point did we ever feel exploited or taken advantage of. We felt privileged to visit the Penan tribe in Mulu and enjoyed the market there without any pressure to spend money. Visiting Abai village and planting the trees was also a great experience for all ages of our party. Again, a privilege.
