Located an easy boat transfer from Tawau and its airport, Mabul Water Bungalows is a great place to enjoy the incredible diving and snorkelling on offer off Sabah’s east coast. Recently it has gained recognition as one of the best diving sites in the world.
The nearby diving opportunities are certainly the main drawcard, but the resort itself which is entirely built on stilts rising out of the shallow lagoon offers great accommodation. On-site there is a spa, an open-air restaurant serving Malay and international fare, and for those keen to explore the rich underwater world without diving, the snorkelling here is excellent. The resort is just a 15-minute boat ride from the famous dive sites of Sipadan, allowing easy exploration of the richest marine habitat in the world.
The 15 over-water bungalows are bright and airy, with large rooms and private balconies making the most of the panoramic ocean vistas, whilst the air conditioning and spa ensure you can rest well after a long day in the water.
