MY Nature Resort is a series of eco-chalets surrounded by thousand-year-old rainforest. It suits couples and families wanting a comfortable place to stay while getting a better insight into the local wildlife.
The resort offers 12 chalets and features 24 rooms combined. There is a village feel to the property and a friendly atmosphere. Hot water and other energy sources come from solar panels and rooms are supplied with biodegradable hair and body wash to help avoid releasing anything adverse to the local environment. The resort also has a swimming pool – while it’s not the largest you’ll ever see – it is undoubtedly an excellent way to relax at the end of the day.
Rooms face onto the surrounding jungle, and most feature a balcony from which you can observe various birds species and if you’re lucky, flying squirrels! Chalets are made from wood and have air conditioning and fans for extra comfort. The onsite restaurant offers a range of traditional foods.
There are night walks on offer around the grounds of the resort when sightings of animals are particularly good. There is also a 1000ft long boardwalk through the Sepilok forest, letting you get even closer to nature without causing too much disruption to the environment.
All in all, this is a very comfortable place to stay for couples and families who want to get close to nature.
Eco/Adventure - This category covers gorgeous lodges in the jungle, comfortable safari camps and dreamy, but simple, beach cabanas. These places defy conventional categorisation: what is communing with nature to one person may be terrifying bugs to another! Many of these places are very comfortable and the service generally of a very high level - but please read the website review carefully and/or talk to us and be sure to have understood what you are letting yourselves in for!
