A stay at Suka Suka is a unique way to experience traditional Malay village life through the delightful hosts Aziz, Asiah and their son Azim.
Accommodation is in a selection of antique Malay houses which have been beautifully re-erected on the banks of the fabulous Lake Chendorah. Each house has comfortable bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms with simple hot showers and a private living room.
This is a genuine homestay, and you will spend your time during the day with your hospitable and caring hosts. The food at Suka Suka is a real treat - lovingly prepared by Asiah and eaten together as a family.
During your stay, you’ll feel immersed in the region and lifestyle with a range of activities on offer such as guided village walks, kayaking, fishing, boat trips and cooking demonstrations.
Ideal for couples or families, Suka Suka is one of Experience Travel's favourite homestays in South East Asia and is suitable for anyone looking to get closer to Malay life in beautiful surroundings and with wonderfully warm hosts.
Homestay - What we mean by 'Homestay' is generally a large family owned house, still occupied by at least some members of the family. Interaction with guests is encouraged and is in fact unlikely to be avoided! These places always have bags of character are usually highly charming and can provide a fascinating shortcut towards understanding local life a little better. Facilities can range from the luxurious, to pretty basic and meals are generally taken as a group and served in the local style rather than from a menu. The service is almost always fairly quirky and idiosyncratic. Great fun.
