Cheong Fatt Ze is a famous tycoon and politician throughout Asia, and this incredible mansion is part of his legacy. The award-winning mansion just blows you away even from a distance. In 2000 it was awarded a UNESCO Most Excellent Heritage Conservation Award, and there are too many other accolades to mention. Stay here to get lost in a world of colour, beauty, treasures, and history.
On beautiful Penang Island, Georgetown itself, the capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Blue Mansion is one of the sightseeing highlights. The night market takes place right next door, and all the cultural wonders and sights of Georgetown are within walking distance. As far as rooms go, they are cool, spacious, and uniquely themed. There are 18 in total, and they are grouped into six categories. Enjoy magnificent period furniture, tropical courtyards, lots of lovely heirlooms and antiques, and even a plunge pool with some rooms.
If you need complete peace and quiet, you might be disappointed – you get a bit of noise from the night markets, and you may have to step past the odd tourist taking photos. But this very special mansion is once-in-a-lifetime, so stay here for the beauty of the place and its incredible story.
