Sala Lodges, Siem Reap

Sala Lodges is made up of 11 Khmer-style stilted lodges and is based a short distance out of Siem Reap town. The whole resort is an oasis of calm and a brilliant option for a relaxing stay close to the Temples of Angkor.

The stilted wooden lodges were relocated from the Cambodian countryside, and each brings its own story. They have all been lovingly restored to offer comfort and simplicity. Each house is different in shape, size and décor with fantastic room configuration options for couples, families and groups travelling together. Clean lines and high ceilings in an open plan compliment the simple interior design that is bright and tasteful with Cambodian art and antiques. The houses are nicely spread across well-kept gardens which gives plenty of space and a sense of privacy.

Contemporary and authentic Khmer cuisine is served fresh at the hotel’s two restaurants, and feedback about the staff is always exemplary. The large pool is in the centre of the property and is a lovely place to relax and unwind after a day exploring the temples of Angkor. There is a complimentary tuk-tuk service that will take you on the short drive to town where you will be able to find a night market and plenty of restaurants.

 Sala Lodges is an excellent resort by any standards with excellent facilities and service, but it also offers guests an insight into Cambodian history and culture, with each stilted lodge unique in its history.
