The Arabian Gulf
Info : Jumeirah Creekside
Jumeirah Creekside provides a good value modern option for anyone making a short stop in Dubai. The hotel is 10 minutes away from Dubai airport so you can be checked in quickly after arriving in the city.
The location is a good base to simply sleep and recover from your flights without thecosts of a Dubai beach hotel. However if you want to see a bit more of Dubai you also have complimentary access to the Madinat Jumeirah Beach Club and Wild Wadi Water Park, both are 25 minutes away by complimentary shuttle bus or taxi (roughly £5). You are also only about 15 minutes away from “Downtown” Dubai where you can visit the famous Dubai Mall with its impressive Aquarium or the magnificent dancing fountains outside Burj Khalifa (the world’s tallest building). Bur Dubai which is Dubai’s “old town” is close by as well.
The Jumeirah Creekside is very much a “design” hotel, the modern art and bright colours will not suit everyone’s taste but it will be hard not to be impressed by the effort that has gone into this building. The atrium style lobby is adorned with dramatic art installations and glass elevators leading up to the rooftop swimming pool. The pool itself is suspended at an angle over the top of the building with a glass bottom so you can swim underwater and look down some 20 floors to the lobby, not for those scared of heights but a fun experience if you dare. Rooms have all the mod cons you can think of, flat screen TVs, fresh coffee machines and all the latest Ipod/Ipad gadgetry! Bathrooms feature free standing bath tubs and angular his and hers sinks
This is a good option for a short stopover if you are looking to experience Dubai without the prohibitive costs of a beach hotel. The design might not be to everyone’s tastes but will impress regardless.

Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
Our guides in Yangon, Bagan, and Kalaw / Lake Inle were wonderful. They struck the right balance of explaining the history and importance of the sights we were seeing without over-doing it, they knew where to get the best view/experience at what time and could rearrange experiences so we got the most out of them.
