The Magnificent City Palace,
Info : The Magnificent City Palace
Any tour of Udaipur has to start with the majestic City Palace complex, which sits above Lake Pichola, its domed towers reflecting in the water below. You’ll have seen it from the lake below, dominating the city and this is your chance to explore first hand. The palace is the private residence of the Maharana of Mewar (“Kings of kings"), but houses a large museum with an extensive collection of rare miniatures and beautiful decorative motives made with mirrors and coloured glass. The level of artistry on display here is quite extraordinary and perhaps the best collection of its type in the world.
Afterwards, you will wander through the markets and bazaars to get a feel for the city. You will also visit the towering Jagdish Temple before proceeding to the charming Garden of the Maids of Honour, which was constructed in the early 18th century and used as a venue for royal parties.
