Vivanta by Taj Gomti Nagar, Lucknow

On the banks of the Gomti, Vivanta by Taj Gomti Nagar is a functional and cosmopolitan hotel set on 25 acres of lovely manicured grounds. It’s large, sprawling, and rather grandiose, nice for a stroll through the grounds. You can expect all the usual amenities befitting a large five star international hotel, and spacious cosmopolitan rooms with modern facilities.

Lucknow is sometimes overlooked in favour of Agra or Varanasi. The capital of India’s Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow possesses its very own unique ambience, culture, heritage, and history. It’s dotted with British Raj-era colonial style buildings, grandiose parks and gardens, and two fantastic mausoleums. While you’re in town, try one of the culinary specialties, the Awadhi kebab.  At the hotel itself, there are impressive five star business and leisure facilities, conforming to the usual international standards: a fitness centre, beauty salon, spa, swimming pool, and some great dining options.

There are plenty of rooms here, ranging from superior charm rooms and deluxe rooms with garden and pool views through to deluxe and premium suites. All of them are peaceful, tastefully decorated, and very modern, with good business facilities. Choose a deluxe delight room for some extra space.

Some may find Vivanta a bit impersonal and get lost in the cool grandeur, but for a short stay in Lucknow for leisure, it’s a great and practical choice.
