Day 1 Depart The UK

Depart the UK on your overnight flight to Hanoi.

Day 2-4 Hanoi

On arrival in Hanoi, your guide and driver will meet you for the transfer to your hotel.

During your stay, there will be time to take our unique guided tour Hanoi, explicitly designed for families. The day brings the interactive exhibits of the city’s remarkable Museum of Ethnology, a rickshaw ride through the streets and a traditional performance of Vietnamese water puppet theatre. We've included plenty of pool time throughout the day, and you have the option to visit the famous chocolate buffet at the Sofitel Metropole hotel and to eat Pho for dinner.

On your second full day in Hanoi you can, if you wish, take an afternoon stroll through the old quarter in the company of a local street-food expert to savour an exciting array of weird and wonderful savour and sweet treats.  

Day 5 Halong Bay

Transfer to the stunning Halong Bay where you’ll board a traditional junk boat for an overnight adventure cruising around the dramatic scenery of limestone karsts. Beautiful lagoons, beaches and caves can all be explored, some even by kayak. You’ll be aboard the Red Dragon, which has just five cabins, two of which interconnect.

Day 6 Train Adventure

Following a morning exploring Halong Bay aboard your boat, you’ll transfer back to Hanoi to take the train. Bring a pack of cards (and a bottle of wine!) and enjoy bunking up in a cosy 4-berth cabin for the overnight ride down to Hoi An.

Day 7-10 Hoi An

Your local guide and driver will meet you from the train to take you along the coast to your beach hotel villa, where you’ll stay for the next four nights - plenty of time for beach fun and the resort has an expansive swimming pool too.

During your stay, there will be an opportunity to explore Hoi An itself, an old town lined with hanging lanterns and with a maze of shops, art galleries, restaurants and tailors. Activities in the area include a leisurely bike ride through the countryside to learn how the villagers net fish and paddle a traditional bamboo basket boat along palm-fringed waterways.

Day 11 & 12 Ho Chi Minh City

It's a short flight down south to Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon. Here you’ll spend a full day exploring the highlights of the city (including the famous Reunification Palace) with stops for ice cream and time to cool down in the swimming pool. In the evening you can choose to see another side of the city on a guided Vespa tour.

Day 13 & 14 The Mekong Delta

Journey into the lushly green Mekong Delta region by road to spend a full day exploring the palm-fringed waterways and local farmlands. You’ll board a small local boat to travel through narrow canals with beautiful tropical scenery, stopping to visit a fish and shrimp farmer and switching to bicycles to pedal past green gardens and local houses. In the early evening, pick vegetables with a farming family and help prepare and cook dinner with the ingredients you collected.

At the homestay itself, you’ll have the chance to enjoy several activities and get a sense of the way of life in the Mekong Delta.

Day 15-17 Siem Reap (Cambodia)

Return to Saigon and fly to Siem Reap; on arrival  you’ll be met by your guide and driver for the short transfer to your hotel.

A highlight of your stay here, undoubtedly, will be the time spent with your guide exploring the Temples of Angkor. We tailor our family tours here carefully to ensure you experience the temples at their best and learn a little whilst having heaps of fun. Activities include a leisurely bike ride to jungle-clad Ta Prohm which continues to the intricate Angkor Thom; the flat trails make this an incredible place to explore by bike.  An early start is best for Angkor Wat; if you arrive before sunrise, you’ll beat the crowds and experience a truly fairytale-like moonlit scene.

Other adventures here include a quad bike ride through the countryside to catch a beautiful sunset across the rice fields and a boat trip to a remote floating village on the Tonle Sap lake where you can mingle with the locals and see how they live.

Day 18 Fly Home

Depart Cambodia for your flight back to the UK.
