Day-to-Day Itinerary : Dragons, Culture & Beach (Komodo, Bali & Lombok)

Depart the UK.

Arrive at Denpasar Airport to be met by your guide. With VIP immigration assistance you will avoid the queues and head straight through passport control and on to your accommodation in the trendy beach resort of Seminyak.

After a free morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the famous Tanah Lot temple, perched on a rock formation off Bali’s south west coast. The temple was built in the 15th century as a form of worship to the Balinese Sea gods and is one of seven such sea temples along the south west coast. After a chance to explore the temple with your guide you will take in the beautiful sun set as the sun falls behind the temple. You will then have dinner on a cliff that overlooks the temple from the mainland.

Fly from Denpasar Airport into the island of Flores, where visitors can explore the adjacent islands of the Komodo National Park, including the world famous ancient lizards, the Komodo dragons. You will be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel to check in. After some time to settle in your guide will then take you for lunch and a tour of Labuan Bajo, a small fishing village that has grown into the heart of Flores' tourism industry.

Today you go to see some dragons! Up to 3m long a dragon is an apt description of these remarkable creatures that inhabit Komodo National Park. Made up of three main islands inhabited by these beasts, Komodo, Ringa and Padar, Komodo National Park is an UNESCO world heritage site that provides a beautiful coastal setting and is famous for its clear white sands, off shore coral suitable for both snorkelling and diving, and Pink Beach. After being dropped off by private speed boat you will explore both Komodo and Rinca on foot and should have plenty of opportunities to see the dragons.

Fly into Lombok and arrive at your peaceful beach hotel in Sekotong Bay, and spend time relaxing on the white sandy beaches, take trips to the Gilis (islands) and enjoy the secluded tranquillity of bay.

DAY 7, 8, 9, and 10 –SEKOTONG BAY

Enjoy four days of relaxation in your Lombok beach resort.

Take a speed boat across the Lombok Straights to Bali, where you will head inland to the foothills of Bali’s volcanic mountains to Ubud, the cultural capital of Bali. Famous for its markets, temples, great selection of restaurants and its traditional Balinese architecture, Ubud town is a great place for private exploration. The town is surrounded by steep river valleys and glistening paddy fields. For those prone to sea sickness air travel is also available.

You will be picked up from your hotel by your guide and taken on a tour of Ubud town. You will visit the ARMA Museum's excellent art gallery, home to a wide array of paintings, woodcarvings and dancing. Have a chance to visit Ubud's famous Monkey Forest, which as its name suggests is a forest that is home to hundreds of monkeys (grey macaques in this case) before exploring Ubud's main Market and/or Palace. The day is concluded with Kecak Dance performance staged by the villagers of Batubulan.

After breakfast you will be picked up and taken on a private walking tour through the beautiful countryside surrounding Ubud. You will be guided through local villages and paddy fields. After lunch in a local restaurant you will be kitted out with mountain bikes and all the required safety equipment, before starting a downhill cycle from Mount Batur through lush tropical paddy fields, coffee plantations and a tour of a village temple.

Transfer by vehicle to Denpasar Aairport for your flight home. Alternatively we can tailor your tour so that you continue on to one of the neighbouring islands.
