Hanging Gardens of Bali is situated to the north of Ubud. This is the land of rice paddies and jungle clad hills, locally known as the magical island of Gods.
The 44 villas look out across rain forested hills and some face the Ayung river which winds its way through the resort. Jump into your private pool and watch mist rise from the jungle floor or stretch out for some yoga on your private terrace. The monkeys and birds will be your only audience and enthusiastic cheerleaders.
Huge floor to ceiling windows blend inside with out, and every villa is spacious and airy. The number of rooms and amenities will vary depending on which one you book. For those looking for extra luxury there is a special suite dedicated to relaxation lovers and featuring its own spa lounge.
The Three Elements restaurant is definitely worth a visit and focuses on the flavors and ingredients of the island. Chili sambals, peanut sauce, coconut milk fragranced with ginger. Parcels of rice wrapped in banana leaves. Believe us, Indonesian food does not disappoint.
We’d say that this resort showcases the serene and quiet side of Bali - for those looking to really de-stress and chill out. Though there is plenty to do in the vicinity, so you need never feel bored either. We think couples, families with older children and groups of friends would enjoy this resort for the blend of leisure, culinary experiences, and outdoor opportunities. Families with younger children might prefer to stay closer to the centre of Ubud where there is more going on.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
