Komaneka is a small chain of four hotels in and around Ubud. All “Komaneka” hotel rooms have similar facilities and style but different settings.
Komaneka Rasa Sayang opened in 2011 and instantly became one of the most upmarket hotels in the heart of cultural Ubud. With limited space to play within the centre of the town, most deluxe hotels are on the outskirts of Ubud. At Komaneka Rasa Sayang you have a range of galleries, markets, restaurants and temples on your doorstep but a tranquil oasis to retreat too when it all gets too much!
The rooms here are generous in size with stylish interiors, and luxury touches like freestanding bathtubs, balconies with oversized day beds and flat-screen TV’s. Breakfast is served Ala carte at a casual restaurant overlooking the pool. The swimming pool itself is quite extraordinary with a dramatic drop below it down to the river and a backdrop of the forest. The facilities and the pool, in particular, are quite a surprise as the resort looks too small to accommodate them from the front.
Given the quality of the rooms, facilities and the location the resort is excellent value, probably the only negative is the lack of a view from the rooms. However, this has been more than made up for with the spacious balconies and is inevitable if you wish to be in the centre of Ubud. If you prefer stunning views in a less busy location, then the sister resort Komaneka at Bisma on the outskirts of Ubud has rooms styled in the same way with a more rural setting.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
