Bali & South Sulawesi Explorer
Fly direct from the UK to Indonesia, uncovering the fascinating cultures and breathtaking scenery of both Bali and Sulawesi in two weeks.
Located in the heart of Rantepao town in Toraja, this resort offers simple accommodation on the Saddang River overlooking rice fields and the surrounding mountains. With Torajan design and artwork throughout the property, along with lovely gardens, Luta was the best accommodation option in the area at the time of writing.
The restaurant and bar overlooking the river make for a pleasant setting to enjoy breakfast. In the evening, European, Indonesian and Torajan cuisines are served. However, we suggest venturing out to restaurants close by in the town instead. The pool sits overlooking the river with overseeing buffalo, a surreally Torajan touch.
Rooms are simple yet comfortable and are a decent size. However, they are a little tired. The public areas are quite dark and feel a little unloved, though the quirky design touches and friendly staff do their best. We recommend the Superior or Deluxe rooms as they are a bit more spacious and have pleasant views.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
