Le Bel Air, Luang Prabang
Laos, Luang Prabang and The North

Info : Le Bel Air

Le Bel Air is one of Luang Prabang's best value properties. Opened in 2008, the hotel offers a selection of accommodation in lush garden surroundings overlooking the lively Nam Kham river below.

The property has one traditional-style wooden building which houses the 4 Deluxe Rooms and and the 2 Classic Rooms. Beyond this, there are 4 detached Bungalows overlooking the river.

All rooms have king size beds (apart from the two twin bedded rooms), a/c, satellite tv, minibar, free wifi internet and the hotel will even organise for a laptop to be put in your room if you ask them. One of the bungalows can be converted to a family room by putting an extra bed in.

A lovely raised dining terrace overlooks the river with parasols providing shade during the day. An outdoor bar serves cocktails and drinks throughout the day with a 'happy hour' every evening. Le Bel Air also operates free taxi shuttles to and from the airport and also have their own boat for exploring the river.

The centre of Luang Prabang is a ten minute walk from the hotel. Bikes are also available free of charge to borrow if you prefer peddle power and tuk-tuks can easily be hired inexpensively. The only drawback is the lack of a swimming pool, but for the level of accommodation provided for the price this is understandable. Le Bel Air offers some of the town's best accommodation for the rates they charge, and it's location slightly outside the town centre, although within easy reach, will be a bonus for many people.

Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.

Guest Comments for Le Bel Air

We love it at Le Bel Air Boutique Resort . The place is in lovely setting and the staff very attentive we even have a "Downton Abbey" sent off when we left for our next destination. All the staff line up to wave us goodbye. Definetly a lovely place to be and the cycles provided for us make Luang Prabang my favourite place!

Customer Feedback
Matt really listened to what we were looking for and our itinerary was a joint project making good use of his knowledge and experience. We were really impressed by how well most of the hotels and guides were integrated into their local communities and were particularly impressed by Pong who guided us in the north of Laos. He really went the extra mile to help us meet and talk with local people and he was clearly well known and liked in the villages we went to!
