Jungle, Homestay & Island
Get a little off-the-beaten track and you'll experience the best of Peninsular Malaysia. Food, heritage, jungles, a home-stay adventure and a castaway beach break.
Belum State Park is a 130 million year old rainforest home to an enormous range of birds, butterflies, flowers and trees including some of the world's most endangered species.
The nearby man-made lake meanders around Belum which meanthat much of the rainforest can be explored by boat. With your nature guide you’ll explore the waters and enjoys trekss into the jungle too. There will be chance to discover the site of one of the three species of Rafflesia, the world's largest flower (if in season), to tour waterfalls and to learn about the jungles history and its wildlife. Elephants, Rhinoceros, Deer, Otters and Tarsier, to name a few, still exist in these jungles but are rarely seen. The flora here is older than the Amazon and your indigenous guide will share stories of their life as hunters and gathers in the jungle and how they coexist with the wildlife.
You can book this experience on its own, with flights or as part of an Experience Travel Holiday Itinerary.
