Set in a rural area near Ipoh with a backdrop of Paleozoic limestone hills, the villas that centre around a beautiful small lake. The focus of the resort is the hot springs and there are some Jacuzzi style dipping pools outside, perfect for relieving tense muscles and tired joints. There is also a thermal steam cave and a natural sauna offering a wonderful way to detox.
The onsite spa is as much an experience as the surroundings, there are various therapies available to suit your needs. The hotel also offers beautiful jungle walks through the leafy surrounds and a geothermal heated swimming pool to relax in.
All in all, this a wonderful place to rejuvinate and focus on one’s wellness. Brilliant for couples, the resort does not admit under 12 year olds.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
Our guide, Mr Rous Ry was so well informed and so passionate about Cambodia that he transformed the holiday. I now can't even imagine trying to understand Angkor Wat without his explanations of the history of Hinduism, Buddhism and the Khmer empire. He also took on board that I am interested in old industrial processes and this helped with visits to an old fish paste factory, a blacksmith, a pottery, a brickworks and various railway sites. This was all done with a charming sense of humour and enthusiasm.
