Lake Kenyir Resort & Spa ,
Malaysia, Eastern Malaysia
Info : Lake Kenyir Resort & Spa
This resort is in central Malaysia on the outskirts of Taman Negara National Park. With stunning natural surroundings and beautifully designed gardens, Lake Kenyir Resort is a lovely place for families and couples to stay and relax.
Spread across 70 acres of land, the resort is built around the beautiful Lake Kenyir, the largest lake in Malaysia. There are various outdoor activities on offer, from fishing, to jungle trekking, to visiting the various waterfalls and caves to kayaking, to canoeing to rafting.
Accommodation is in wooden chalets built in traditional Malay style, some overlook the lake, others further set back. Each feels very private and spacious. Rooms are furnished with modern conveniences, although they may feel a little dated. The infinity pool looking over the lake is beautiful and there is a Malaysian restaurant with a lovely terraced dining area stunning views over the lake beyond.
In summary, this is a comfortable retreat with plenty of outdoor activities on offer in a beautiful setting. It’s not state of the art luxury but will suit more adventurous visitors who’d like to do something a little different in Malaysia.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
The guides and drivers couldn't have been better, 10 out of 10. Dao was outstanding. He made the trip extra special for us. His knowledge of the area and the whole country, history etc. was fantastic. He was brilliant with the children too, he made the trip fun, exciting and safe. If ever he was talking to a local in Lao, he would always involve us in the conversation and explain what was happening. At the end of our 9 days with him we didn't want him to go.
