Lone Pine is a stylish boutique hotel, combining a modern, fresh interior with colonial charm. Originally opened in 1948, Lone Pine quickly expanded and established a reputation for its fabulous parties and charming ambience. The hotel now has 90 rooms, award-winning facilities, and spectacular sea views.

Along the northern coast of Penang, Batu Ferringhi roughly translates to “foreigner’s rock” and is a charming and lively area with plenty of nightlife, dining, and a night bazaar. The Tanjung Bungah and Teluk Bahang beaches are close by. An airport transfer takes around an hour.

There are cosy rooms and large suites on offer, many of which have sea-facing balconies or lush private courtyards. The Deluxe Room is 45 square metres large and features a plunge bath on the balcony. If you need some extra space, the super deluxe room is a good option, and families will enjoy the Premier Garden room opening out onto a beautiful courtyard.

We think Lone Pine is a good choice for families and couples who want a comfortable stay, near the beach with the option to explore Penang, but younger people might feel they’re a bit out of place, so don’t stay at Lone Pine if you want a trendy scene.

Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
