Our Head of Travel, Nick loves exploring life in Asia and over the past decade he has spent a great deal of time in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. To add to his impressive repertoire, Nick also pioneered our Indonesia holidays and having done exhaustive tours to Bali, Java, Flores and Indonesian Borneo he is passionate about extolling the virtues of this often overlooked country.
Nick started out at ETG in 2009 but he’s been involved since the start - carrying the equipment for the first office in Sri Lanka when he went travelling in 2004. He knows Sri Lanka like the back of his hand and almost always has a trip in the offing – whether it’s developing new experiences in Batticolao to the east (also known as the ‘land of the singing fish’) or seeking out alternative ways to do the well-trodden sights of Colombo and the Cultural Triangle.
Nick got married in 2017 and devised a fantastic trip to Thailand and Cambodia for his honeymoon. Highlights included soaking up the all-inclusive luxury of Song Saa, buzzing round the streets of Phnom Penh on a Vespa and exploring the hidden island of Koh Dach by bike. Frankly, we all wonder how Nick ever gets time to indulge in his other passion – sport – and, in particular, maintain his lifelong support of AFC Wimbledon…

A majestic temple in a jaw dropping setting. Watching the sun rise over Mount Merapi, with the forests shrouded in mist, is a truly magical experience.
This tour explores the fascinating history of Cambodia, the remote and picturesque nature of the Cardamom Mountains, the idyllic beaches of Koh Kood and gives you time to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Bangkok before flying home. What more could you want?
The best time to visit Borobudur is during July and August when the sun rises between the peaks of Agung Merapi and Agung Merbabu. The border crossing at Hat Lek provides a great link to the idyllic Thai island of Koh Kood after the more cultural and varied delights of Cambodia.
Every ETG journey is unique. Tell us your loves, your hates, your holiday ambitions, your hopes and fears, and we’ll share a suitcase so full of inspired holiday ideas you’ll need to sit on it to shut it tight.
