Anawrahta (long), The Irrawaddy River

On selected dates during the year, the grand Anawrahta boat operates 7 or 8 day cruises. Options include a 7 day journey on the lower Irrawaddy from Yangon to Bagan and an 8 day voyage along the dramatic upper Irrawaddy from Mandalay to Katha and beyond.

The cruise’s wander through riverside towns, admire teak monasteries, pagodas and ancient cliff carvings, marvel at fortresses and battle sites and see the very best of Burmese colonial architecture. Along the way you’ll revel in the picturesque countryside from the river, enjoy cultural demonstrations, sip cocktails and spend plenty of time kicking back with a cold drink and making new friends.

There are sixteen cabins on board, all of them surprisingly spacious and bright, some even feature private jacuzzis. All rooms and suites have private balconies and all guests can make use of the many on board facilities such as the jacuzzi plunge pool, cabanas, beautiful interior and exterior dining spaces and, of course, the fabulous sun deck.
