A Burmese cooking class is a great way for culinary enthusiasts to get to grips with the cuisine of Myanmar. We can arrange half-day cookery classes in various locations and classes or demonstrations are often included when you choose to take an overnight river voyage in Myanmar.

Most cookery experiences begin with a visit to the local produce market. You'll get to know the exotic fresh ingredients you’ll be using to create traditional Burmese specialties: fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, rice and plenty of spices.  In some locations you'll continue on to a local restaurant and take over the kitchen with your fellow students. A local chef will guide you every step of the way as you use your fresh produce to create a range of Myanmar’s regional delicacies. Learn about the four primary flavours in Burmese cuisine (salty, sour, sweet and bitter) and how they are balanced finely with each other. Most tour's ends with a lunchtime feast comprising the fruits of your labour.
