The origins of the 2,000 stupas at Kakku Pagoda are shrouded in mystery. In the morning part of this guided day tour, you can choose to travel by boat to the temple complex or take a short trek there through the glorious Shan Hills. Relish the crazy history of how this fascinating site came to be discovered by some local farmers with a curious wild pig. To this day, no-one can be sure who constructed the pagoda in the first place.
The tour continues to Lake Inle with a stop at fascinating Taung Gyi en route. In this beautiful high-altitude town, you can wander through the famous Myoma markets, eat at one of many wonderful restaurants or just take in the beautiful green scenery.
