Info : Kalaw Market
Explore the sleepy hill station of Kalaw with your own private guide, either on foot or by bike. Start by visiting the Central Market where you can meet the locals selling their various goods, which come from different provinces all over the Shan state. You will then cycle the streets, taking in the beautiful surrounding scenery and colonial architecture. Stop at the train station, with its mock Tudor-style buildings and 'The Kind Church', before climbing steps to a monastery that provides a wonderful vantage point over the town and is also a lovely place to relax.

We enjoyed a 3 week trip exploring both the well known places as well as the less developed areas. We also balanced the trip with a variety of walks and activities as well as time for several half day breaks to relax. The Myanmar people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The colours of the country are outstanding, wonderful dusty landscapes with rice fields and palm trees as well as so many amazing pagodas rich in colour and symbolism. Our best parts were the less well known places but Lake Inle and Bagan are must do places and are still not overrun by tourists. Experience Travel Group tailored a trip for our needs and knew how to do so and suggest appropriate hotels and means of travel.
