Your guide will accompany you to the vibrant Zay Cho markets in Mandalay. Take a late morning stroll through the stalls at your leisure in this sprawling complex with eight market buildings. Some of them are covered and several stories high, other parts are open-air. The Zaycho markets (Zay Cho in the Bamar dialect means “cheap rice”) are one of the busiest, largest and most important in Myanmar (Burma). The vendors sit on their mats displaying their colourful wares in enormous piles that spill out onto the street: cake, fruit, vegetables, chicken, eggs, fish, spices, grains, silks, cotton, slippers, jewellery and plenty more.
