Amara Ocean Resort has a relaxed, romantic atmosphere with 24 simple yet elegant wooden villas on one of Burma’s most beautiful beaches. The thatched roofs give a luxurious Robinson-Crusoe-touch to the rooms that are all air-conditioned, and the bathrooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. The best villas by far are those that face directly onto the beach and are worth splashing out on to complete the desert-island experience. The large swimming pool looks out onto the ocean with a nice sun terrace and plenty of deck chairs for relaxing by the water. The hotel’s beach is private and is exclusive to hotel guests, which means it is quiet, unspoiled and very relaxing. The hotels’ restaurant offers good quality Asian and Mediterranean cuisine at reasonable prices, with other local restaurants not too far away. A very good resort for a touch of luxury at the beach in Burma.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
