Aureum Palace Resort & Spa,
Myanmar, Lake Inle
Info : Aureum Palace Resort & Spa
Perched on the edge of Lake Inle, this warm and wonderful hotel makes a strong impression at first glance, particularly as you arrive by boat. From the water, it looks like a dream village in the middle of a lush natural paradise. As you step inside, the guest areas and rooms are airy and bright, decorated with beautiful wood furnishings and splashes of colour. The whole hotel is quite elegant and striking, and the fairytale effect continues well into the evenings as the place lights up on the water.
During your stay you’ll be likely to spend time on the lake itself, to hike or bike around the region, or to experience some unique cultural offerings. At the resort, you can indulge in the spa, spend some time by the beautiful pool or dine at the restaurant.
Space is not an issue at Aureum – the villas on the lake and on the shore are enormous. They all feature private lakeside terraces, spacious bathrooms, living rooms and even lotus ponds. Some of the shore suites feature outdoor plunge pools.
There isn’t much to complain about unless you don’t like the odd mosquito, which is a given seeing that the hotel is right on the lake. Come to Aureum Palace Resort & Spa Inle to explore this unique part of the world while still coming home to a high standard of luxury.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
We enjoyed a 3 week trip exploring both the well known places as well as the less developed areas. We also balanced the trip with a variety of walks and activities as well as time for several half day breaks to relax. The Myanmar people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The colours of the country are outstanding, wonderful dusty landscapes with rice fields and palm trees as well as so many amazing pagodas rich in colour and symbolism. Our best parts were the less well known places but Lake Inle and Bagan are must do places and are still not overrun by tourists. Experience Travel Group tailored a trip for our needs and knew how to do so and suggest appropriate hotels and means of travel.
