Info : Hotel Yadanarbon
The cheery Hotel Yadanarbon building is certainly a warm welcome when you arrive in Mandalay, a good choice within walking distance from all the major city sights. It’s bright, clean and decorated in a traditional Mandalay style.
The Hotel Yadanarbon is centrally located so Mandalay’s shops, night bazaars, palaces, pagodas and monasteries are just a short walk or drive away. In the hotel itself you can enjoy the atmosphere in the café, or grab a sundowner and head to the rooftop restaurant to see the sunset.
Choose from one of 56 standard, superior or deluxe rooms or opt for one of the two suite rooms for extra space. The rooms are bright and furnished in a cheery traditional way and you can expect colourful flowers or other pleasant touches. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are large and clean.
This is a great and convenient choice for whilst in Mandalay. It’s not sleek five-star luxury and the street noise might affect you if you’re sensitive to it, but it’s a functional hotel and a very pleasant experience staying there.
Comfort - This is our lead in category. There will generally be a no frills approach and while some will be characterful, some will do exactly what it says on the tin - provide a clean, comfortable and good value place to spend the night. These places are normally 3* hotels.
A standout was our guide in Kalaw / trek / Lake Inle. He was as keen to learn from us as he was to teach us, he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and he was just plain fun too!
