Sule Shangri-La , Yangon

Formerly known as the Traders Hotel in Yangon, the Sule Shangri-La is a high-rise hotel in the very centre of Yangon; it is on the same street as the main market. The interiors are all tasteful and colonial in style with a grand lobby complete with chandeliers, sweeping staircase and classy Asian-style finishes.  What's more, being high-up affords unbeatable views of the bustling capital city, over the centre of town but also across to Kandawgyi lake and the Shwedagon Pagoda. The 5^th floor has a good swimming pool and gym as well as an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The 484 guest rooms are all spacious and very comfortable and well-appointed.  The breakfast is very good, and there is a lovely central atrium for relaxing. The staff are all amiable and speak some of the best English you will find in Yangon.
