Whats more, being high-up affords unbeatable views of the bustling capital city, over the centre of town but also across to Kandawgyi lake and the Shwedagon Pagoda. The 5th floor has a good swimming pool and gym as well as an outdoor jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. There are 484 guest rooms that are all spacious and very comfortable, spacious and well appointed. The breakfast is very good and there is a nice central atrium for relaxing. The staff are all very friendly and speak some of the best English you will find in Yangon.
Our guides in Yangon, Bagan, and Kalaw / Lake Inle were wonderful. They struck the right balance of explaining the history and importance of the sights we were seeing without over-doing it, they knew where to get the best view/experience at what time and could rearrange experiences so we got the most out of them. A standout was our guide in Kalaw / trek / Lake Inle. He was as keen to learn from us as he was to teach us, he bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and he was just plain fun too!
