Exploring the Valleys of Kathmandu & Bhutan
Combine the cultural allure of Nepal with the magic of Bhutan on this incredible journey through the Himalayan valleys.
This lovely hotel opens onto an organic farm and consists of 13 cottages, each designed in the traditional Newari style with tasteful tiles and wooden panelling.
The cottages come with a range of comforts. (Bear in mind that the smaller ones come with private toilets but share a communal shower house, while the medium and large cottages have private bathrooms with hot showers).
No matter which cottage you choose, you’ll be able to take in the staggering views, and on a clear day, you might even catch a glimpse of the mighty peaks of the Himalayas.
Living up to its name, the resort’s spa here is worth writing home about. Unwind in the Finnish sauna, the flotation tank, or the pool. And, if you’re travelling with kids, let them burn off some energy on the trampoline.
The gardens are a delight, especially for birdwatchers, with a variety of species to spot. The resort’s kitchen is another highlight. Much of the produce is grown just outside in the organic vegetable garden, and they serve up daily a three-course vegetarian menu that makes the most of the fresh ingredients.
Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
