The Indian Ocean surrounding Bentota Sri Lanka is rich with Tuna, Jack Fish, Red & White Snappers, Barracuda, sharks, groupers and the stunning Wahoo, making a morning spent deep sea fishing here a fantastic experience.
You will be collected directly from the Malubanna jetty in the early morning and spend 4-5hrs fishing off the coast of Bentota Sri Lanka. Should you be successful, the fishermen will select the best of your catch for you to enjoy at dinner in the evening.
The rest of your catch will be sold at market, with half of the proceeds going to your guides and the other half towards a local fishermens development charity.
During the off season, try lagoon fishing. This takes place in the quieter waters at the edge of the river mouth and further upstream where you will have the opportunity to catch mangrove jacks, snappers, mullet and cat fish. Lagoon fishing is also a great way to enjoy the rivers scenery and wildlife around Bentota Sri Lanka. Go out in the morning or late afternoon for a couple of hours fishing.
