opportunity to meet a headman of the last remaining communities of the Veddha
tribe and walk with him through his people's ancestral land.
The Chief is at home in nature and will show you a different side of the forest, explaining how his tribe lived off the land by pointing out medicinal plants, ancient hunting grounds, and cave dwellings along the path. Though he doesn't speak English, you can chat with the Chief through your guide, who will translate during the walk.
