Day-to-Day Itinerary : Luxury Family Sri Lanka

Depart the Uk for Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Arrive in Colombo and transfer to the Horathapola Estate - a beautiful tropical mansion offering unpretentious luxury on a working coconut estate. The perfect place to recover from your flight, this 3 bedroom hotel is peaceful and relaxing and the food is fantastic. Nothing much to do - but you will happily pass the time exploring the estate, swimming in the pool, or lounging with a book in the gorgeous garden.

Your chauffeur-guide will meet you today, he will stay with you now until you reach the South Coast on day 11. Drive to Wilpattu National Park where you'll stay in the excellent camps at Leopard Safaris on a full board basis. Here you will enjoy safari adventures in the wilderness of the park, as well as many other animals you may be lucky enough to see leopards roaming their natural habitat.

Your next stay will be at Jims Farm. A beautiful hotel in an organic farm, a perfect base for visiting the ancient sites of the cultural triangle. During your time here you can explore the world heritage site of Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Aukuna Standing Buddha. You can also take a guided tour of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.

From the cultural triangle you'll drive with your guide down to Kandy where you'll board a train for the scenic journey up to Sri Lanka’s hill country. Your driver will meet you from the train at the other end and take you through lush tea-covered hills and windy roads to Tea Trails. These 4 beautifully appointed bungalows set on a tea plantation form one of the best boutique luxury properties in Sri Lanka. Aside from relaxing into the life of the colonial planter (minus the hard work!), there are many activities available here. You can spend time enjoying water sports on the lake, climbing Adam's Peak,  taking gentle walks in the plantations or white water rafting on the nearby Kelani River.  Tea Trails is an all-inclusive property - but this is very high quality all inclusive:  luxurious afternoon tea's and high quality drinks included as a matter of course. And all the tea you can drink!

Today you'll travel down to the Galle area where you'll check in at your luxury private beach home South Point Villa. Your driver will leave you here in the hands of the villa staff. The villa is fully staffed and comes with an excellent chef. The nearby beaches of Unawatuna and Mirissa have plenty of action for kids and Galle town is a great place to dine and explore with restaurants, cafes, galleries and the famous Dutch Fort.

Transfer north towards the airport. Spend your last night in the excellent Wallawwa hotel. Soak up the remaining moments of your trip and savour fine cuisine from the in-house restaurant.

Transfer to Colombo Airport for your return flight to the UK.

Customer Feedback
We just wanted to say a big 'thankyou' for all your hard work with our holiday. We had a fabulous time and the accommodation and organisation was spot on. We loved the Mud House and thought it was our favourite place. We are not so sure now, as the rest was great and the villa was complete luxury.
