Sri Lanka, Cultural Triangle
Info : Amaya Lake
Located within 30 minutes drive of Sigiriya Rock, the former 'Culture Club Hotel' lies in acres of park-like grounds, bordered on one side by the impressive Kandalama Reservoir and offering magnificent views of the surrounding country-side.
The spaciousness of this hotel makes it an ideal choice for both family groups and those seeking to get away from it all. Stand out features include the large swimming pool located in the centre of the complex, and the enormous open air bar and dining areas. This is a great hotel for children.
The rooms are dotted around the grounds and situated at a distance from the dining and bar areas, offering privacy and quiet. The rooms are quirky, with the decor reflecting the ancient culture of the region. Each has a separate living area that steps up into a bedroom. The bathrooms are spacious with separate bath, shower and toilet.
There is an excellent Aurveydic health centre on-site and badminton and tennis courts.
The hotel offers the usual array of activities including mountain biking and walking, and of course trips to the main attraction Sigiriya Rock. The hotels location in the middle of the country-side makes it perfect to explore with a picnic. The extensive grounds provide space and tranquillity. The lake is suitable for swimming and boat trips and is a magical place to watch the sunrise with the countless endemic species of birds which frequent the wetlands here.

Thanks for all your help - the honeymoon was fantastic! Our driver, Hanif, was excellent and very helpful... All the hotels were very good but Warwick Gardens was fantastic - the best hotel we've ever stayed at.
