A small boutique hotel made up of nine chalets and a three-bedroom bungalow surrounded by picturesque mountains and lakes close to Dambulla in the Cultural Triangle. The modern chalets and bungalows are fully air-conditioned and have been designed with luxurious comfort in mind.
The chalets and the bungalow can be booked by the room or exclusively. The original chalet enjoys near-panoramic views of the calm lake and paddy and is accessible by raft (depending on the time of year) or footpath. The property is fully staffed, and meals prepared by the in-house chef can be enjoyed anywhere on the grounds. The Sri Lankan ‘Rice and Curry’ is a must, bearing in mind that the ingredients are locally produced, with the rice and vegetables coming from the grounds of the retreat itself.
The retreat offers the ideal base for exploring the Dambulla Cave Temples and is around 45 minutes away from Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The location also offers a couple of unknown treats such as an eternal spring within a short walk of your room – perfect for a relaxing bath in the crystal clear water after a long day’s sightseeing.
Deluxe - This is our first really 'upmarket' category. It might be a beautiful tiny hotel with very limited facilities or a 5* resort hotel with all the trimmings; but any hotel in this category will be a well-run establishment with very comfortable rooms, a strong service ethos and excellent food.
