Lansiya is a delightful villa overlooking Seenimodera beach close to Tengalle on Sri Lanka's southern coast. Built within a large landscaped garden, it consists of two buildings - one located at the rear of the garden, with two twin rooms and kitchen, and the main villa perched at the front of the land overlooking the beach. The master bedroom has one of the best coastal views available from any room on the island, out over the end of the bed, through the coconut palms to the sea and beyond. The bed here is exceptionally wide, while the cement and terracotta floors are practical given the number of times you will probably want to swim during a stay here. The pastel colours used in the decoration throughout the villa provide an atmosphere of total relaxation.
The beautiful Seenimodera bay is ideal for swimming & sun-bathing and is deserted most of the time. The surrounding beaches of Tengalle provide many a possible day trip if you can manage to leave the villa or the local sands. There is also the Kalametiya bird sanctuary and Yala National Park nearby.
There are a beautiful infinity pool and lounge hut, constructed in 2005, which bring a new dimension a stay here. Adjacent to it is a large open plan lounge area, with wooden and wicker furniture and dining/bar area. The villa has a resident masseur and has created a discreet shady space beneath the main villa for guests to enjoy this service. As with most villas, food is cooked to order, and great attention is paid to the preparation. The villa is sold on a full-board basis, making it excellent value for families (an experienced nanny is also available for ten hours a day at no extra cost). The villa has a versatile cook, and the menu is customised based on the client's likes and seasonal specialities.
This area of the island retains a rustic, unspoilt beauty and it's largely deserted beaches will remove you totally from urban life. Lansiya is a unique, luxurious property in a unique part of the island.
Villa - The 'Villa' is a similar concept to the 'holiday home' in Europe, with some key differences. Our villas in Asia are always fully staffed with cooking and service provided for you. Staff will generally cook meals to your specification and purchase food and drink for you at cost price. They are generally pretty smart and luxurious too and feel in many ways like a small private hotel. Nonetheless, your villa is still effectively a home and therefore you cannot expect the same level of training, English speaking or slickness that you might expect from a hotel at a similar cost. As the owners are not generally holiday professionals we cannot guarantee the quality of a villa matches expectations in a way we can with hotels. That said, the personal local touch means villas are generally much more friendly and interactive than hotels and have much to recommend them. The privacy and space makes them wonderful for families, groups of friends or couples looking for privacy and relaxation.
