Reef Resort & Spa, Wadduwa Sri Lanka, South West Beaches
The Reef Resort & Spa is a luxurious tropical getaway, complete with luscious gardens, sparking blue waters and endless stretches of warm sand. This tranquil paradise is building a world class reputation. The intimate setting contains seven luxury suites with breathtaking natural surroundings offering seclusion and privacy. Wadduwa is a sleepy coastal town, just an hour’s drive south of Colombo, where groves of coconut trees and lush tropical wilderness line the property in contrast to the shimmering ocean.
Active travellers can enjoy swimming in the impressive resort pool, jogging through beautiful manicured gardens, or a game of tennis on the court. Those seeking wellness and relaxation will appreciate Reefresh Spa on site, complete with luxury massage and beauty treatments under canopies of frangipani petals. Note that as with most of Sri Lanka, swimming in the sea is limited and dangerous as certain times of year.
Quality fine dining is an art at Reef, where experienced chefs create world class specialities influenced by local and international cuisine. Whether dining al fresco, by the poolside at the restaurant, or anywhere else on-site, enjoy a superb selection of wine and food, and cap it off with a relaxed waterside drink at the beach bar.
The colonial grand beauty of the property and the stunning Indian Ocean backdrop make Reef Villa a truly unique and memorable holiday experience. The garden surroundings, stunning modern reflection pools, and palm-lined pavilions set a luxurious and tranquil tone. With meticulous detail, the owners, also the architects, have created a very special environment, making the most of the magnificent natural beauty of Sri Lanka.
Luxury - Luxury hotels would have a superb level of service, very comfortable and usually spacious bedrooms, excellent food, great design and character. For us, when we visited, these places all had the 'wow factor'. A luxury hotel should satisfy the criteria of the most discerning clients.
We loved Horothapola where we stayed for the first two nights - very peaceful and relaxing and delicious food
