Situated near a beautiful reef protected bay, this colonial style guesthouse is perfect for anyone who wants to experience a laid back  boutique hotel. A mixture of Sri Lankan charm and western comfort, The Spice House is a home away from home.

The Spice House is nestled amongst lush tropical gardens and whilst the front of the house is shaded by coconut palm trees and cinnamon trees, the back has views out onto the surrounding jungle. You may just want to relax by the infinity pool or go for a dip in the sea but there are also plenty of activities to do in the area. Mirissa is known as one of the best places for whale watching in Sri Lanka (November – April), and the historic town of Galle is only a 40 minute drive away.

The five spice themed guestrooms all with four poster beds have high ceilings and have either garden or sea views. The high ceilings create a light and airy feel, and all the rooms have en-suite facilities. Although the rooms do not have air-conditioning, the ceiling fans accompanied by the sea breeze should keep the room cool throughout the day.

At The Spice House guests can either enjoy lush tropical nature while lazing in hammocks dotted around the spice garden or explore the surrounding area of Mirissa and Galle.

Superior - This is what we would describe as our standard category. These will be decent 3/4* hotels providing a really good level of service. We would generally expect them to be providing a little something extra, in terms of character, guest experience or facilities too.
