We like to start with an informal chat, usually over the phone, to find out what your initial thoughts and expectations are for your wedding day and what other requirements you may have, such as whether you also want to arrange a honeymoon at the same time.
The next stage is for us to put a quote together for you. To do this we ask for a £100 deposit. We charge a deposit because we - and our in-country partners - put a lot of time and effort into creating a bespoke wedding proposal. It is essentially a ‘good faith’ deposit and it will be credited back to your invoice at the time of booking.
To help us devise a package that is completely tailored to your wishes and requirements we ask you to think about the following:
How many guests will you be having? Will you want them to stay in the same place as yourself or would you rather you have somewhere more private?
Are you envisaging something small and understated or something grand and elaborate? Or do you have somewhere in between in mind? Our basic wedding package includes a poruwa (flower arch) on the beach and the services of a registrar and celebrant, and for a wedding day as simple as this the costs will amount to around £1000. Alternatively, you can include all or some of the following and costs will increase accordingly:
- Kandyan dancers and drummers
- 3 course meals
- Boat rides
- Hair and makeup
For a 2 week luxury trip that includes the basic wedding package it is reasonable to budget £8000 minimum for two people.
How long do you want to be in Sri Lanka for? In order to get the legalities organised, you officially need to be in the country for a minimum of 4 working days prior to the ceremony (We recommend 5 working days just to be sure).
If you want to add a honeymoon on to your wedding, what sort of holiday are you interested in? Sri Lanka has a multitude of cultural sights as well as tea plantations, national parks and relaxing villas, so a tailor-made tour tends to work best to fit it all in. And if the budget allows, do you want us to add in some beach time in the Maldives?
Once you have had a chance to think about all or some of the above and you would like to have an initial chat (it’s free and no obligation so, why not..?) or you are ready for me to put a quote together for you, just let us know and we will be happy to help.
