Tarmac and wide dirt roads make up the terrain, with a mix of dynamic and ever-changing landscapes including jungles, forests, coastlines, islands, and villages. A minivan with air conditioning is always on-hand for support.

Suitability: No major inclines, gently undulating terrain, and no overly challenging distances make this cycling tour a great choice for just about any bike rider with a decent level of fitness.

Trail Conditions: The majority of the tour travels along tarmac and wide dirt roads, with a bit of off-road riding. No special technical experience is required.

Day-to-Day Itinerary : Beach and Island Cycling Adventure

Day 1 Depart the UK

Depart the UK on an overnight flight to Bangkok.

Day 2 Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok and check in to your centrally located hotel. The evening is free to acclimatize.

Day 3 Bangkok

A full day with your guide exploring Bangkok tailored to your own interests. Whether you’d like to explore the markets, temples or street food stalls of this exciting city, your guide will be on hand to get you the best perspective.

Day 4  Surat Thani

This morning your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport for your short flight down to Surat Thani. On arrival you’ll meet your guide and transfer by vehicle to the cycle ride starting point, with a stop along the way for lunch. The ride begins in the tranquil, shaded countryside and you’ll travel through the middle of a rubber tree plantation, ending at your beachside accommodation in Khanom.

 30km Ride

Day 5 Khanom Beach Loop

The loop leads you along the Khanom coastline, passing a fishing village and some gorgeous beaches before stopping at a cave. After a beachside lunch, explore a refreshing waterfall before heading back to the hotel via an off-the-beaten-track area. You might draw surprised looks from the locals as you ride - not too many foreigners pass through this area.

 75km Ride

 Day 6 Khanom to Cheow Laan Lake

 A two hour vehicle transfer leads you to the beginning of today’s ride. Head towards the pier, where a boat is waiting for an unforgettable trip under massive limestone karst cliffs. Tonight’s accommodation floats serenely on the Cheow Laan Lake, with simple bungalows made of bamboo providing a platform for direct access into the water. Try a kayak ride at sunset before dinner and keep and eye out for cheeky monkeys.

60km Ride

Day 7 Cheow Laan Lake to Khao Sok National Park

Awaken to the sounds of the Thai jungle and be taken by boat back to the bikes on the pier. A downhill start to the ride leads to undulating terrain, winding through jungle and limestone cliffs along the border of the stunning Khao Sok National Park. This wonderful hidden national park is bursting with forests, massive limestone monoliths, caves, lakes, and wild inhabitants of all shapes and sizes.

 40km Ride

Day 8 Khao Sok National Park to Takua Pa to Koh Kho Khao Island

 Riding to the outer limits of Takua Pa, today’s bike trip passes through the old town with its fusion of Portugese colonial charm and traditional wooden structures. You will ride to the ferry, which will take you to Koh Kho Khao Island, via the Tsunami Victim Ceremony paying homage to the victims from 39 different countries. Upon arrival at this tropical paradise, ride a lazy 6km to the beachside bungalows.

 50km Ride

Day 9 Rest Day

 The white sandy shore stretches endlessly, and today is the perfect day to enjoy it. Hop on your bike and explore the beautiful surroundings in the morning. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat tour exploring the mangroves.

Day 10 Koh Khao Island to Khao Lak

 Today’s ride leads to the Tsunami Memorial on the beach at Ban Nam Khem, as well as the fishing boat that was carried a phenomenal 2km inland by the strength of the raging waters. Heading inland, pass through tranquil back roads, see tiny villages, enjoy the shade of the rubber plantations, and traverse rivers along the way to the Sam Rung waterfall. Dip your feet in the pool at the base of the fall, and eat lunch nearby. A short ride leads you to your hotel.

 37km Ride

 Day 11 Khao Lak to Kok Kloy

 The ride features wonderful rural scenery such as rubber and palm plantations, canals, coastline, and shrimp farms. Today’s ride is not challenging, and there’s always time for a dip in the hotel pool afterwards.

 30km Ride

Day 12 Phang Nga to Koh Yao Noi

 Vehicle transfer leads you to Phuket where the ride begins off the main highway. A tranquil road leads past mangroves to a pier where the boat is waiting to take you to Koh Yao Island. Explore this beautiful paradise by bike, taking a dirt road up to a vista, riding past quaint fishing villages, and traversing mangroves and rice paddies. A highlight is tonight’s homestay in traditional housing with a fishing family from a local village. Browse the night markets in the evening, and sample some local specialties, like roti.

 30km Ride

Day 13 Koh Yao Noi to Krabi

Riding to the pier, the boat departs for the mainland, passing through fascinating karsts. The journey to Krabi continues off road on your bike, through pineapple plantations, palm fields, bordered by magnificent limestone cliffs, and through lush forests.

 25km Ride

Day 14-17 Koh Lanta

 The cycling tour ends today so if you are short on time it is possible to fly home from Krabi. However in this tour we have included a further 4 days to relax and recover from your adventure on the island of Koh Lanta. Your time on Koh Lanta will be free to enjoy the beach, the sea and the laid back surroundings of this beautiful Thai Island.

Day 18 Fly Home

 Depart Thailand today for your flight back to the UK.
