Day-to-Day Itinerary : Hidden Gems of Thailand

Day 1: Fly from the UK

Depart from London (or regional airport) and fly overnight to Bangkok.

 Day 2: Bangkok

Arrive and transfer to your hotel – the marvellous Ariyasom Villa – a beautifully converted 1940’s villa in the heart of Bangkok.

 Day 3: Bangkok

Your guide comes to your hotel on foot to meet you and the day is yours – site-see, shop, eat or just explore. The guide will help you get around fast using all the transport in Bangkok. Like meeting a local friend.

 Day 4: Bangkok

Our street food tour starts at 10am – in the historic Bang Rak district. Visits to local street food restaurants – all with their own specialities are interspersed with out of the way temples and cultural sites. A brilliant way to get under the skin of Bangkok.

Day 5: Cruise on the Chao Phraya

Cruise up river on the converted rice barge, the Mekhala. Stop at a fresh market and Pathum Thani in route. Super dinner on board in the evening.

 Day 6:  AyutThaya.

After a visit to the Mon village of Baan Saladang, where villagers have successfully maintained their traditional way of life, cruise on towards the ancient capital of Ayutthaya where you will explore the ruins of this once glorious capital.

Transfer to Ndol Villas – your base for the next two days.

Day 7: Khao Yai National Park

Ndol Villas is a good base for Khao Yai National Park. Arrange a visit into the park for a hike, a nature walk or even to sample Thailand’s up and coming wineries!

Day 8: Chiang Rai

Transfer  back to Bangkok airport for the flight up to Chiang Rai. On arrival transfer to Lanjia lodge to settle in and dinner.

Day 9: Lanjia Lodge, Near Chiang Rai

There are a huge amount of activities that can be done here – from trekking, to exploring locally and discovering traditional crafts.

Day 10: Lisu Lodge, Near Chiang Mai

This morning transfer to Lisu Lodge and enjoy the spectacular local scenery.

Day 11: Lisu Lodge, Near Chiang Mai

Cycling, trekking, elephant rides – it’s all here for you at this wonderful lodge. It is more activity based than the more remote Lanjia, which makes for a great contrast.

 Day 12: Chiang Mai

Transfer to Thailand’s second city for a few days of fairly luxurious R & R in the magnificent 137 Pillars Hotel. A pleasant contrast to the austerity of the lodges, this hotel lacks for nothing in life’s luxuries!

 Day 13: Chiang Mai

A full day with a guide to do as you wish – again you can explore where you want and see a side to Chiang Mai that many tourists miss.

 Day 14: Chiang Mai

Day at leisure to explore the tonw or relax at your hotel.

 Day 15:

Transfer to the airport for your flight .

Enhance your Experience+

Include a few days or more at one of Thailand's incredible islands. To continue the 'away-from-it-all' feel, Koh Yao or Koh Kood will fit the bill brilliantly.
